Off-model Tom & Jerry in Clapton

Off-model Tom & Jerry in Clapton

In this one, both characters are inexplicably dressed as thriller-era Michael Jackson. Both also sport Chorlton cheeks and Tom’s hand is hovering about an inch above Jerry’s head, as if he’s holding him in place purely with psychic force. Note that the stance is similar to the one in Lyme Regis but Tom’s pose is much more dynamic thanks to the asymmetry of his nonchalant crossed legs. Jerry also has his arms folded in standard Dreamworks-style toon ‘tude, but this is softened by his winning smile.

Was there some kind of golden age of off-model Tom & Jerry statues that I missed?
